Privacy Policy

Bevel Theme (wpbevel.com) provides a WordPress theme, companion plugin, starter templates, and related tools and services (together, the Services). In this policy, Bevel, we, us, and our refer to the operator of wpbevel.com. This policy covers our website, your account, and the licensing and update services that connect to your WordPress sites.

By using the Services you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

• Account details. When you create an account we collect your name and email address, and a password that we store only in hashed form.
• Purchase details. When you buy a plan we collect billing information such as your name, email, billing address, and the last digits and type of your card. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
• Support and communications. When you contact support, subscribe to our newsletter, or reply to our emails, we keep the messages and any information you choose to include.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and log data. When you visit wpbevel.com we collect standard log information such as your IP address, browser type, referring pages, and the pages you view, to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.
• Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure aggregate usage. See Cookies and tracking below.

License and update data

When you connect your account to a WordPress site, the Bevel theme or plugin may send us your site URL, the Bevel version installed, your license or account status, and basic environment details (such as WordPress and PHP versions). We use this only to deliver automatic updates, confirm your entitlement, and provide support. The free features of Bevel work without an account, and a site that is not connected does not send this data.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
• To process purchases, deliver license keys, and enable automatic updates.
• To respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account.
• To send service messages, and, where you have opted in, product news and offers.
• To protect the Services against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

Legal bases

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services you request), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services), consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (to meet tax, accounting, and other requirements).

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure the checkout. Preference cookies remember choices such as language. Analytics cookies help us count visits and see which pages are useful, in aggregate. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can decline non-essential cookies without losing access to the core parts of the site.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers and in the situations below:

• Payment processors to charge and refund purchases.
• Hosting, email, and analytics providers that run our infrastructure and communications on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect your data.
• Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bevel, our users, or others.
• Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We retain purchase and tax records for the period required by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may ask us to delete your account at any time, subject to records we are required to keep.

Data security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if an incident occurs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, among others, have specific rights under their local laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@wpbevel.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

International transfers

Bevel operates online and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it in line with this policy.

Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party sites and tools that we do not control, including payment pages and documentation hosts. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy notices before providing information.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for professionals and businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at support@wpbevel.com. We reply to privacy requests within one business day where possible.
